Plane Details
This is a 37 1/2 % Yak Level 1 (lots of work) kit by 3W. The fuse and cowl are a composite construction, and the wing and tailfeathers are balsa sheeted foam. It weighs about 38 pounds and has a wingspan of 120". It has a DA150 for power with MTW canisters. It swings a Carbon Fiber Mezlik 32-10 prop. For control there are (14) JR8611a servos, which have 333 ounce-inches of torque, each. The "brain" is a Powerbox 40/24 "Champion" with Servo Matching Control Programmer and switch. For power there are three Fromeco Peerless Lithium Ion batteries, with each one having 4800 milliamp-hours capacity. The control horns are from SWB and the control surface hardware is all Dubro. Paint is Dupont Automotive Chromabase Pearl Blue and Silver with Clearcoat. The custom graphics came from Kirby Kustom's. This winter we hope to add a removable smoke system as well as flames and a few more graphics to the cowl. It burns high octane gasoline mixed at 100:1 with Amsoil Saber Synthetic 2-stroke oil. The spark is controlled by a Fromeco adjustable regulator.
