THE PRESIDENT’S Message
As I write this we have just completed our Club Picnic. It was great day for all. The roast pig was terrific and all the covered dishes were delectable! The only problem was the selection was so great one couldn't try them all! My thanks Karen and Dale Loop for organizing the picnic! Also thanks to all those who pitched in and helped out with any chore to make the day go smoothly. Dale also organized a small Fun-Fly with 4 events. All who participated had a good time (I hope)!
There were many people at the Picnic who do not regularly come to the Field and I hope to see all of them more often. The people are what make a Club. They are the reason it exists. This is TCWS, and we fly here, but without the people working together for the common good as we did for the Picnic, the Club would soon decline and ultimately fail. My point here is that you get out of TCWS what you put into it. Help with the events, participate in them and even consider running for office! We need all the help we can get to operate the Club. Without Members we could not exist, and without some who are willing to become Officers we would have to disband. Everyone is busy today and to add responsibilities to your life may seem unnecessary, but remember, our Club exists for the Members and to have fun flying. If you participate in the events and help with the responsibilities we can fly and have fun for a long time!
Our next two events are the IMAC Aerobatics Contest on Sept. 24-26 and the TCWS Fun-Fly on Oct. 9. Spread the word about the events, flyers is available at the field. Come out and enjoy the events, participate and have lunch at the TCWS Snack Bar!
This is the first in what I hope is a monthly column for the Newsletter. Come out and enjoy! I hope to see you at the field!
John

october fun-fly -
This
is a reminder that we will be sponsoring an open Fun –Fly in October as
another club fund raising event. We
plan to invite he local R/C clubs to attend. John Messersmith and Jack Hilbert have volunteered to
organize such an event. .An organizing team will be assembled and more details
presented at the September meeting. As
this will most likely be the last outdoor club event of the year, everyone is
asked to attend and participate. As
always, a full menu will be available form the kitchen and families are always
welcome. Colorful announcements are
available at the field and everyone is asked to take copies with them and post
wherever possible to maximize the awareness of our event and encourage
participation.
2005 Christmas Party
We discussed the possibility of
having our 2005 Christmas Party somewhere other than the Moose Lodge as a means
of attracting a larger attendance of our members and their guests.
Several options were considered and it was agreed this topic would be
tabled again at the September meeting and if there is sufficient interest, an
organizing committee would be named.
If you have any ideas or
suggestions, please give them to any of the club officers and be sure to attend
the September meeting as well.
