President’s Message…

The end of the 2004 flying season is fast approaching! Take advantage of the fine autumn weather and fly while you can!

19 pilots, 17 from TCWS and 2 guests attended our Open Fun Fly.  9 of these brave souls decided to participate in the flying games.  They participated in Timed Fly, Duration Fly and 3 Loops, 1 Roll and Land.  After the dust cleared Erik Rudjord won the event, I finished second and Jim Ellis was third.  We had prizes generously donated by Iron Horse Hobby House and Hobbytown USA in Reading and Props and Wheels in Tamaqua.  Everyone who participated got a prize of some sort.  Several who got glue needed it!  A fun day was had by all!

The November and December meetings will be held at the Moose in Hamburg on the regular Thursday nights.  The Christmas Party will follow the December meeting as in past years.  The November meeting is the Officer Election meeting.  If you are not too worn out from the Bush-Kerry clash come out and vote in the TCWS Election!  The Office of Vice-President is being contested between Jim Ellis and Terry Miller.  Come out and vote!

Thanks to Kip Daubert for volunteering for the position of Safety Officer and Field Marshall.  Kip will join Jack Hilbert as Field Marshall and Larry Dunkle as Safety Officer and will be a valuable asset to the club.

The Building and Grounds Committee has elected Dennis Christman as the Chairman and they are looking into several improvements to the grounds and will report on them at future meetings.

Finally, come out and participate in the "Black Friday" fly on November 26th, and the New Year's Day Polar Bear fly!

Have a Safe and Happy Holiday Season!

                                                            Until Next Month…..   John

From the TCWS Kitchen…

Please remember the kitchen will remain open through-out the remainder of the year as we deplete the food supply.  After October, we will have “limited” services as long as the weather permits flying at the field.

The kitchen staff thanks Nanci Messersmith for the donation of an electric can opener.
