President’s Message…
'Tis
the season…. The Holidays
are fast approaching and our planes are now going into hibernation waiting the
first warm days of spring. The
December 16th meeting has the Christmas Party afterwards at the Moose
Lodge. And don't forget the Polar
Bear Fly on January 1st! This
tradition is a great time to get out for some fun and finger freezing.
Hot dogs and sauerkraut, soup, coffee, and hot chocolate will be
available at the TCWS Snack Bar to help warm us up.
It's
time to get to work replenishing the supply of new/rebuilt/refurbished aircraft
in your personal hangar for the upcoming season. My projects include finishing a profile P-38, and building a
Super Stearman and a P-40. There is
also a Patty Wagstaff Extra to be completed.
I'll have lots to do!
The
upcoming TCWS Swap Meet in March and the other area swap meets, shows, and
auctions will keep us busy in the off season.
The Swap Meets allow us to sell unwanted (but still good!) items and to
find the things that we need at a bargain price! TCWS needs volunteers from the club to assist in the
operation of the event. There are
many jobs that need to be filled such as watching the doors during set-up,
manning the club table, selling 50-50 tickets and raffle tickets, helping in the
kitchen, etc. If you are willing to
help at the Meet call me or Dave or Walt and we'll get you where you are needed.
This event is very important to the TCWS because it is the big fundraiser
for the entire year! Come out and participate.
Even if you cannot volunteer time, come and browse and support those with
items to sell.
Our
elections are complete and I wish to thank outgoing Vice President Jim Ellis for
supporting the club by stepping into this job when needed. Jim you did a great
job! I want to welcome Terry Miller to the position of Vice President and look
forward to working with him. The
other Officer positions stayed the same with Jack Hilbert as Secretary and Dale
Loop as Treasurer.
As
we head into the New Year I want to wish each and every TCWS member a VERY Merry
Christmas and a Great New Year.
Until Next Month….. John

From the TCWS Kitchen…
Please remember the kitchen will offer LIMITED
services for the remainder of the year. Food will be purchased in limited
quantities and based on weather conditions.
Available food will be sold on a FIRST ORDERED -- FIRST SERVED Basis.
Club Work-Shop and Parts…
Please note that while we have always had a very
limited supply of nuts, bolts, screws, etc in the shed at the field for member
use, we now have a much larger supply and capability.
Through the very generous donation of former member John Steffney, TCWS
is the benefactor of several power tools and an extensive supply of parts and
accessories. Dave Renninger has
placed all these items in the work shed. Members
are free to use the tools to make repairs to aircraft.
Whenever a member needs a part, please feel free to use it from the shed
but REMEMBER -- this is a service
to benefit ALL members so please promptly replace whatever part(s) you may take
or, make a donation equal to the value of the parts to the club.
Please
note:
TCWS
Inc makes the tools available for member use at their own risk and TCWS Inc, its
Officers and Directors assume no liability, either expressed or implied for any
injury, damage, loss of any nature, resulting from the use of ant tool or part
herein provided.
