President’s Message…

'Tis the season….   The Holidays are fast approaching and our planes are now going into hibernation waiting the first warm days of spring.  The December 16th meeting has the Christmas Party afterwards at the Moose Lodge.  And don't forget the Polar Bear Fly on January 1st!  This tradition is a great time to get out for some fun and finger freezing.  Hot dogs and sauerkraut, soup, coffee, and hot chocolate will be available at the TCWS Snack Bar to help warm us up.

It's time to get to work replenishing the supply of new/rebuilt/refurbished aircraft in your personal hangar for the upcoming season.  My projects include finishing a profile P-38, and building a Super Stearman and a P-40.  There is also a Patty Wagstaff Extra to be completed.  I'll have lots to do!

The upcoming TCWS Swap Meet in March and the other area swap meets, shows, and auctions will keep us busy in the off season.  The Swap Meets allow us to sell unwanted (but still good!) items and to find the things that we need at a bargain price!  TCWS needs volunteers from the club to assist in the operation of the event.  There are many jobs that need to be filled such as watching the doors during set-up, manning the club table, selling 50-50 tickets and raffle tickets, helping in the kitchen, etc.  If you are willing to help at the Meet call me or Dave or Walt and we'll get you where you are needed.  This event is very important to the TCWS because it is the big fundraiser for the entire year! Come out and participate.  Even if you cannot volunteer time, come and browse and support those with items to sell.

Our elections are complete and I wish to thank outgoing Vice President Jim Ellis for supporting the club by stepping into this job when needed. Jim you did a great job! I want to welcome Terry Miller to the position of Vice President and look forward to working with him.  The other Officer positions stayed the same with Jack Hilbert as Secretary and Dale Loop as Treasurer.

As we head into the New Year I want to wish each and every TCWS member a VERY Merry Christmas and a Great New Year.

                                                            Until Next Month…..   John
