Unofficial Meeting Minutes…
President Walt Gladney called the
meeting to order at 1:26 p.m. at the Field Pavilion in Lenhartsville, PA.
Twenty-six (26) members and five (5) associate members were present.
Jeff Shriver read the Secretary’s report for August with a motion to
accept by George Case, seconded by Dave Renninger, and approved.
Dale Loop read the Treasurer’s report for August with a motion to
accept by Jack Hilbert, seconded by Dave Glockner, and approved.
And Marion Case has once again won the 50/50 raffle drawing.
Old
Business…
1.
IMAC Event Wrap-Up – A check, in the amount of $194, has
been mailed from Pete Castine to the TCWS for the net profits made from the
event.
2.
TCWS Address Sign – As of the September meeting, the sign
has not been received. A call has
been placed to the fire company. The
sign will be installed when it arrives.
3.
CAP Squadron Weekend – All of the arrangements have been
made. The kitchen is to be open on
Sunday only. The rocketry will take
place on the weekend only.
4.
2003 Swap Meet Insurance Activity – A letter has been sent
to VeriClaim with a copy of the losses from the event.
A copy of the letter has been placed on file.
5.
Nominating Committee Report – As of the September meeting,
there are at least two (2) positions to fill for the 2004 year.
At this point, one (1) Board of Director’s (BOD) position and the
Officers slate are open for nominations. The
club charter requires that a slate of nominations be presented at the October
meeting. Elections are to occur at the November meeting.
Walt Gladney will be stepping down as President.
Larry Smith may be contacted for nominations.
There
was no other old business at the time.
New
Business…
1.
2004 Swap Meet Meeting – The meeting is scheduled for
October 12, 2003 @ 1:30 pm at the club field for the Officers and Board of
Directors (BOD). Anyone else
interested in volunteering may also attend.
The AMA has requested for the TCWS to send paperwork for the listing in
the magazine and insurance.
2.
Property Acquisitions – Dave Renninger spoke regarding a
possible lead on some new property. The
goal is to eventually own a flying field. The
list price is $250,000 for a 40-acre lot. It is located approximately 9 miles form the current field.
The site would be solicited to other neighboring people that would be
interested in a joint venture. If
50 people would invest $5,000 each, the lot could be purchased.

“Safety Table” – A trial stand has been constructed as
a demonstration model for use by all flyers.
It was presented to obtain a club opinion on it.
See Jack Hilbert for details. A
motion was made by Kip Daubert, seconded by Dale Daubert, and approved to form a
committee to build 6 more tables for use at the field.
Jim Ellis donated the wood materials.
Various members donated the remaining money to obtain the remaining parts
to assemble them. See the photo
below for the example (Rick Boyer’s Ultimate pictured).
4.
Trash Removal – A motion was made by George Case, seconded
by Dave Renninger, and approved to have the club responsible for trash removal
at all club sponsored dinners.
5.
Generator Hookup – George Case mentioned that a hookup for
a generator for power losses would be convenient.
There was no other new business at
the time.

Announcements…
1.
Berks Co. TV Program Donation – A thank you letter and
membership subscription card has been received from Berks Co. TV in response to
the TCWS $50 donation.
2.
“Driving on Field” Notice – Do not drive your vehicle
on the field to retrieve any lost airplanes.
This has occurred in the past.
3.
Thanks from the TCWS – A thank you goes out to John
Messersmith for his help in the wiring installation of the generator in the back
of the pavilion.
4.
2004 Officers and Board of Directors Nominations –
Nominations can be made thru the October meeting for anyone interested in
serving a position of the TCWS. Any
person elected to an Officer’s position (President, Vice President, Secretary,
or Treasurer only) will receive their membership in the club for free
that year. This is a great way to
serve the duties of the club and receive an added benefit too.
