Unofficial Meeting Minutes…
President Walt Gladney called the
meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. at the Moose Lodge in Hamburg, PA.
Ten (10) members and one (1) associate member were present.
Jeff Shriver read the Secretary’s report for September with a motion
to accept by John McLaughlin, seconded by Vince Indelicato, and approved.
Jeff Shriver read the Treasurer’s report for September as presented
by Dale Loop with a motion to accept by Bud Wunder, seconded by Jack Hilbert,
and approved. John McLaughlin won
the 50/50 raffle drawing.
Old
Business…
1.
TCWS Address Sign – The sign has been received and
installed at the base of the driveway.
2.
CAP Squadron Weekend – The kitchen preparations were made
Jack Hilbert and Ed Koch. Nobody
from the CAP group showed up for the event.
In the future, the TCWS will seek some more definite agreement on
outside events at the field. Some
notification is necessary with better communication arrangements.
It is also noted that this was the 2nd cancellation in 2
years (in 2002, 1 of 2 groups had cancelled).
3.
2003 Swap Meet Insurance Activity – No new business is
presented at this time. Jeff
Shriver is to follow up with a call to AMA regarding the status.
4.
Safety Tables – There are eleven (11) total at the field.
For the generous donations by Jim Ellis, a motion was made by Jack
Hilbert, seconded by John McLaughlin, and approved to permit free dues for Jim
Ellis for the 2004 season. Some
comments were raised regarding the tables in general: the position &
location of the tables, safety concerns, etc.
Otherwise the comments were generally good overall.
There
was no other old business at the time.
New
Business…
1.
2004 Swap Meet Organizational Meeting – The event is
scheduled for March 27, 2004. The
meeting occurred on October 12, 2003 to discuss the breakdown of assignments.
Walt Gladney proposed a list of tasks and the people assigned to each.
It was noted that the current ad does not directly
address what the swap meet is all about (R/C airplanes). It was suggested that another ad be created ad distributed
for the general public postings. A
discussion was held regarding the problem of admission time through the doors.
The doors shall be opened @ 7 am for setup purposes only and will be
opened to the public @ 8 am for the official start of sale.
On a related note, the Lebanon show is to be held on March 13, 2004.
2.
2004 TCWS Nominations – According to Larry Smith, the
current breakdown on nominations is as follows:

·

·
Vice President – John Messersmith
·

Persons
serving on the Board of Directors (BOD) assist with the functions of the club,
decisions making, etc. Final

3.
Berks Co. TV Program – The club received a BCTV membership
card because of a $50 donation sent in by the TCWS from our promotional program
earlier this year.
