Meeting Minutes:
President Walt Gladney called the
meeting to order at 1:30 p.m. at the Field Pavilion in Lenhartsville, PA.
Fifteen (15) members and two (2) associate members were present.
Jeff Shriver read the Secretary’s report for April with a motion to
accept by Bud Wunder, seconded by Vince Indelicato, and approved.
Dale Loop read the Treasurer’s report for April with a motion to accept
by George Case, seconded by Jack Hilbert, and approved.
John Mayberry won the 50/50 raffle drawing.
Old
Business…
1.
Kutztown Vintage Days 2003 – Carl Colasanti reported that
the club setup would be inside a hangar with available electricity.
Larry Smith will provide a video presentation.
There is a setup time of 9 a.m. and a start time of 10 a.m.
2.
Berks Co. TV Program – The one-hour show will be broadcast
on Reading TV Channel 13. Bud
Wunder will make Four (4) tapes available for viewing. The show will contain an advertisement for the 2003 Fun-Fly.
Bud will also include a map to the field.
Bud will work with Jack Hilbert on the final coordination.
The show will air on the following dates and times:

June 6 @ 11 a.m.
b.
June 7 @ 10 p.m.
c.
June 8 @ 11 a.m.
d.
June 10 @ 2 p.m.

June 2003 Fun-Fly – A letter has been sent to the local
township office for notification of the upcoming event.
A copy of this letter is on file with the TCWS.
Setup for the event will occur on Friday afternoon, June 13.
The kitchen arrangements are set with Jack Hilbert and Dave Renninger.
Walt Gladney will coordinate the Swap Shop and attending vendors.
Dale Loop is to secure the extra restroom facilities.

Appreciation Day – Discussion of this event has been tabled
until next month.
There
was no other old business at the time.
New
Business…
1.
Insurance Co. Swap Meet Event – A letter has been received
from the Curley Adjustment Bureau, Inc. addressing the damages from the fire and
future action to be taken. A Board
of Director’s (BOD) meeting may follow in the future depending on how the AMA
insurance adjustor’s site visit goes.
There was no other new business at
the time.

Refrigerate CA
You can extend the shelf life of
Cyanoacrylate adhesive (CA) by keeping it cool in the refrigerator. What this is
really doing is keeping it dry, as CA reacts with moisture to cure.
Temperature-Sensitive Items
In warm summer months, keep in mind
several RC items that deserve a temperature-controlled environment. Batteries
left in airplanes that are hung in the garage can get too hot. Fuel can
evaporate quicker. Monokote and other film coverings can separate from their
backing. CA glues can age quicker. Try to keep these things cool so they’ll be
ready to use in good condition when you need them.
