Swap Meet Results
(as of 4/18/02) The unofficial income and expense report from the TCWS March 20,
2002 Swap Meet was reviewed. The net income
was $1306.00. A few more items remain that
may change the final balance. A big thanks
goes out to all who participated for their help. A
complete apparel inventory was not know at the time, but has since been determined.
Field Clean Up
At this time, little or nothing is to be done.
Sam Miller has over-seeded select areas. George
Case has made some repairs and also had keys made for the door locks. Thanks to both of these guys.

Field Preparation
So far, all tasks have been done by the TCWS.
There is a concern about the large quantity of dandelion and clover on the field. Walt Gladney has checked into having a
professional service take care of weed control, etc.
This resulted in an approximate range of $279 to $300. Questions and concerns from the members were
voiced. Were looking at having service
performed around mid-May. A motion was made
by Larry Smith to accept a proposal made by the Green Giant company but was
tabled for the present time. Walt was to
arrange for a meeting at the field between the Board of Directors and Green Giant to make
arrangements for the treatment. A motion was
made by Larry smith and seconded by Dennis Sell to approve the Boards decision.
Fun Fly Preparation
Larry Smith is the contest director (CD). We
still need people to 1) help with parking and 2) 2-4 people to assist with transmitter
impound and registration. Setup for the
contest is Friday, June 14 starting at 1 p.m. Volunteers
are needed for that day. We need people who
would be willing to volunteer the use of his or her canopy.
There is a need for a total of two (2).

Helpful Hints
Antenna Tubes
Need an antenna tube inside that long fuselage? Next time you go to your favorite
restaurant, grab five or six extra straws. At home, cut each with scissors lengthwise,
collapse it in on itself and add a little tape. This collapse makes the straw a smaller
diameter, which works best for receiver antennas. Then make a small cut in one end,
collapse it a little, and stick it into the next straw, and apply tape. You can chain
several of these together, then put into the fuselage for holding the antenna.
Temperature-Sensitive
Items
In warm summer
months, keep in mind several RC items that deserve a temperature-controlled environment.
Batteries left in airplanes that are hung in the garage can get too hot. Fuel can
evaporate quicker. Monokote and other film coverings can separate from their backing. CA
glues can age quicker. Try to keep these things cool so theyll be ready to use in
good condition when you need them.
